Soprano

Lyric-spinto soprano Christina Seo Young Kim, a native of Seoul and based in New York City, is pursuing her Master of Music at the Mannes School of Music, studying with Laquita Mitchell and coach Anthony Manoli. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Chugye University for the Arts in Seoul.

 

Recent highlights include portraying Sir Elton John’s Trainer in David T. Little’s "Vinkensport, or The Finch Opera" with Mannes Opera (2024–25) and an appearance in the Mannes Sounds Project at Victor Borge Hall (Scandinavia House), featuring music by Charles-Valentin Alkan. In 2022, she furthered her training at the Valencia International Performance Academy & Festival in Spain.

 

In the 2025–26 season, she joins the casts of Busoni’s "Turandot" and the New York premiere of Erich Korngold’s "Die stumme Serenade".

 

Guided by a clear, chiaroscuro timbre and text-driven musicianship, Kim seeks beauty, authenticity, and spiritual depth in every performance.
